{"id":3388,"date":"2019-04-01T13:00:03","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T13:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/2019\/04\/01\/should-i-worry-about-tingling-or-numbness\/"},"modified":"2019-04-01T13:00:04","modified_gmt":"2019-04-01T13:00:04","slug":"should-i-worry-about-tingling-or-numbness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radianthealth.us\/es\/2019\/04\/01\/should-i-worry-about-tingling-or-numbness\/","title":{"rendered":"Should I Worry About Tingling or Numbness?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-727 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/tingling-resized.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>At one point or another, everybody has experienced the sensation.\u00a0 That vaguely uncomfortable \u201cpins and needles\u201d feeling that surges through some part of our bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The question then, is it anything to be concerned about?<\/p>\n<p>The short answer is, it depends, But that\u2019s not terribly helpful, so let\u2019s go into a bit more detail.<\/p>\n<p>That sensation you sometimes feel is called paresthesia.\u00a0 What\u2019s happening when you feel it is that the flow of blood has been cut off to the nerve.\u00a0 No blood, and it can\u2019t send signals properly.\u00a0 Then, when the flow of blood is restored, the nerve starts \u201cwaking up\u201d which results in that less than pleasant sensation.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, paresthesia is caused by mundane conditions.\u00a0 Something as simple as sitting in the same position for too long can cause it.\u00a0 If you suffer from a mobility issue, for example, if you\u2019re in a wheelchair, then you probably feel the sensation on a fairly regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is, in those cases, no, it\u2019s nothing really to worry about.\u00a0 You should be mindful of it, of course, and take the message that your body is sending you to heart.\u00a0 Be sure not to spend excessive amounts of time in the same position and it will go away.<\/p>\n<p>Other times, however, it really can be the sign of some serious problem. You could have a nutritional deficiency such as anemia or B12 deficiency. Or, if you\u2019ve suffered some type of nerve, spine, or brain injury, you can also experience paresthesia.\u00a0 In these cases, it\u2019s not something that just comes and goes.\u00a0 It lingers, giving you a constant reminder that there\u2019s a problem.\u00a0 It\u2019s your body\u2019s way of trying to get your attention.<\/p>\n<p>With those things in mind, if you\u2019re only feeling the effects of paresthesia on an occasional basis and it goes away pretty quickly, it\u2019s nothing to worry about.\u00a0 If not, be sure to seek the help of a professional right away to get to the bottom of it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-727 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/tingling-resized.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>At one point or another, everybody has experienced the sensation.\u00a0 That vaguely uncomfortable \u201cpins and needles\u201d feeling that surges through some part of our bodies.
