{"id":3279,"date":"2019-03-04T14:15:03","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T14:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/2019\/03\/04\/do-you-have-pain-when-you-bend-or-reach\/"},"modified":"2019-03-04T14:15:04","modified_gmt":"2019-03-04T14:15:04","slug":"do-you-have-pain-when-you-bend-or-reach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radianthealth.us\/es\/2019\/03\/04\/do-you-have-pain-when-you-bend-or-reach\/","title":{"rendered":"Do You Have Pain When You Bend Or Reach?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-705 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/back-pain-resized.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>If you experience back pain when you bend or stretch, you\u2019re certainly not alone.\u00a0 The question though, is what\u2019s causing your back pain in the first place?<\/p>\n<p>The answers are more varied than you might think.\u00a0 Here are the most common ones:<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Muscle Strain or Sprain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These two are far and away the most common causes of back pain that flares up as a consequence of you stretching, bending or reaching.\u00a0 It hurts, yes, but it\u2019s temporary.\u00a0 With the application of alternating ice and heat, paired with low impact exercises that gently stretch those muscles, you can expect pain caused by strains or sprains to gradually improve and fade away over time.<\/p>\n<p>This type of pain can be caused by a variety of issues including nerve compression, lack of blood flow, a general lack of flexibility and excessive physical activity which leads to overuse.\u00a0 Even dehydration can cause this type of pain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Herniated Disc<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While not nearly as common as a muscle strain or sprain, herniated discs are still commonplace and describe a condition where the soft padding between two segments of your spine has slipped out of position and begun to bulge out.\u00a0 When that happens, pretty much any time you move, you\u2019re going to experience sharp, shooting pain.<\/p>\n<p>With proper treatment, including NSAIDs and low-impact exercise, the pain from a herniated disc will begin to subside in six to eight weeks.\u00a0 Other treatments such as an epidural steroid injection could speed the process even further, although if the pain persists much beyond eight weeks, surgery may be required to correct the issue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arthritis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is more common in people over the age of fifty-five, although it\u2019s certainly possible that arthritis could be the issue in people younger than that.\u00a0 Unfortunately, there\u2019s no cure for arthritis, although there are several viable treatments that can help you manage the pain.<\/p>\n<p>Our recommendation is this:\u00a0 Unless you can point to a recent activity that may have caused a strain or sprain, you should see your doctor or chiropractor and give them the opportunity to assess you, so you can begin treating it appropriately.\u00a0 Don\u2019t suffer needlessly!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-705 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/back-pain-resized.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>If you experience back pain when you bend or stretch, you\u2019re certainly not alone.\u00a0 The question though, is what\u2019s causing your back pain in the first place?
