You might think that where fresh fruits and vegetables are concerned, since they\u2019re all good for you, there\u2019s no such thing as too much.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it\u2019s not quite that simple.\u00a0 Nutritionists broadly agree that ideally, you want to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, and try not to bulk up on too much of any one type.<\/p>\n<p>In simplest terms, that\u2019s because fruits and vegetables have different nutrient makeups.\u00a0 Eating too many of just one thing can cause imbalances in your body.\u00a0 Perhaps the most extreme form of this can be seen if you binge on foods high in beta carotene. Beta carotene is the pigment found in foods like sweet potatoes and carrots that give them their orange color.\u00a0 Eat too many of them and your skin will actually take on an orange hue.\u00a0 Fortunately, that goes away as soon as you cut back on your intake.<\/p>\n<p>Another problem is this:\u00a0 Some fruits and vegetables are loaded with fiber.\u00a0 Too much of that will not only inhibit your body\u2019s ability to absorb other nutrients, it will also lead to gas and bloating.\u00a0 Not good.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just fresh fruits and vegetables you have to be worried about either.\u00a0 Eating too much lean protein like fish or chicken can strain your kidneys and liver.<\/p>\n<p>The lesson here is simple.\u00a0 Moderation is the key.\u00a0 If you eat a wide variety of fresh foods with a heavy emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables, you won\u2019t even need to take a vitamin and mineral supplement.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t bulk up on too much of any one type of food, and you should be just fine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-552 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/radianthealth.us\/files\/2018\/08\/fruit-resized.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>If you\u2019re like most people, you do what you can to eat healthy.
